The videos are meant to be viewed via scanning the QR code when it appears on the specific illustrations in the book.
In order to scan and get automatically redirected to the relevant video, the reader must have a functioning smartphone/tablet camera, a stable internet mobile connection, and a QR code scanner application installed.
Using the application, adjust the camera view so it would catch the whole square, and you should be redirected (automatically or by accepting, depending on the installed application) to the relevant video.
However, it is still possible to watch the videos manually.
It is possible to watch Dolfi’s videos without scanning the QR code.
The videos are all listed here. You can jump to the desired video (the corresponding book page is shown), and navigate after watching, using the Next/Previous Video buttons.
With that said, we must note that we do not recommend using the above method, for the sake of flow and for best reading experience.
Before we will discuss which application should you get, we strongly suggest that you take quick look at your smartphone’s pre-installed applications. There’s a good chance that a QR code scanner is already installed and ready for use.
In case you didn’t find one:
Most QR code scanner applications are free for downloading. Some can be purchased for a small fee.
A lot of the free scanners out there rely on ads to create revenue. We’ve found a free scanner which (for now) doesn’t show ads.
Android users:
The name of the application is QR Code Reader, made by Scan Mobile.
iOS (iPhone) users:
The name of the application is QR Reader for iPhone, made by TapMedia Ltd.
While creating the book, the site and the videos, it was especially important for us to provide the best ways for watching and enjoying Dolfi’s videos.
But certain things are entirely out of our control.
However, the good news is that you can improve your viewer experience immensely.
Here are some ways to do it:
The videos are meant to be viewed in full-screen mode. The button located in the bottom-right side of the video player.
The whole reason of going full-screen is to let the video cover the entire frame of the device you are watching with. While this is not a problem when using a computer screen, is may not do the trick with mobile devices. The key here is to turn the phone/tablet sideways (horizontally, landscape mode) after entering full-screen mode. By default, this should solve the problem, but on some cases, you may need to turn the Rotation Lock off, in your system settings.
Sometimes it’s not easy to understand what little Dolfi is saying. He’s quite young, after all. And sometimes you just can’t play high volumes at the moment.
To miss not a single word, click on the CC button, located in the bottom-right side of the video player.
By default, the player’s audio level is supposed to be maximized. But due to past usage around the web, it might be set on a lower volume (or even on mute). You can easily change those settings at the bottom-left side of the video player.
On a general note, please make sure that your screen is on a sufficient brightness level, and that your device’s media volume isn’t set too low.
